Build and optimise a website capable of increasing the client’s visibility to product relevant search. The client’s existing website was not fit for purpose and experienced relatively low sales volumes in comparison to their competitors. Our objective was to build a brand new site, with custom functionality, presenting the product range in a far better way and increasing sales by achieving page 1 rankings for the relevant keywords.
The website was built using WordPress/Woocommerce CMS and published within 5 weeks from the initial design approval.
Upon the website going live, we immediately started to optimise the website from home page, and category pages, through to the individual product pages. The industry we were targeting is an incredibly competitive one, as the client is a manufacturer of bicycles, specialising in folding bikes, mountain bikes, ebikes and tandem bicycles. Once the first phase of onsite optimisation was complete, with every category and product page containing optimised custom content, meta data and alt image tags, we commenced the offsite optimisation, using our blogger outreach campaign to generate bespoke backlinks. Each backlink was generated specifically to increase relevance to the target keyword, as well as increasing the domain authority and trust factor of the website.
Within 10 weeks off launch, the website achieved a position 1 rankings for some of the lesser competitive target keywords, such as ‘folding mountain bike’ which receives approximately 3,600 searches per month (average). The client saw an immediate increase in sales of related products and website visits exceeded 5,000 per month for the first time.
The next phase of optimisation was to build greater relevance to the main target keywords, such as ‘folding bike’ (33,100 searches per month ave.) and ‘tandem bicycle’ (14,800 searches per month ave.). Within 6 months, the client dominated the target search markets obtaining position 1 ranking for term ‘folding bike’, which is a market previously dominated by national retailers Halfords and Decathlon, as well as longstanding folding bike brand, Brompton.
During the first 12 months, the traffic arriving at the website through organic search has increased tenfold, and the client now enjoys an increase in monthly revenues of over 1000%.
